‘The Bookbindery’ specializes in producing fine hard-covered books. Our general and custom bookbinding work covers an enormous range: one-off presentation volumes, family histories, memoirs, poetry collections, guest books, portfolios, journals, and short-run editions for companies and institutions throughout New Zealand.
Custom binding
Have a manuscript, a set of printed pages, or a collection of loose material you want bound properly? We bind single copies and short runs in hard cover or soft cover, with a wide choice of book cloths, leathers and decorative papers — including traditional printed marble papers for endpapers and covers.
Gold foiling and personalisation
We offer gold foiling and blind embossing on covers and spines: titles, names, dates, crests and logos. Personalisation transforms a book, notebook or journal into a gift or keepsake, and can usually be added to items purchased from our shop as well as to books we bind.
For companies and institutions
We produce bound volumes, minute books, registers, and display books for businesses, clubs, churches, schools and libraries. Library binding — durable rebinding of heavily used volumes — is a long-standing speciality, as is binding for legal, accounting and architectural practices.
